I spent the afternoon in New York last week with long distance friend, mom and actress Denise Richards. We chatted over tea and I decided to ask her some questions and find out what it’s like to be a single, working mom in the spotlight.

The technological advancements we have made have resulted in the entry of new generation mobile phones which are smart enough to perform multi-functions. With the advent of the smartphone, kids are now increasingly utilizing these mobile phones for their various activities. The internet option helps them to browse websites; the inbuilt camera allows them to capture pictures, and so on. Most of these are beneficial, while some of them can be dangerous.
I ran away with my husband to New York City for a fast 3-day trip of his business, and my pleasure. Shhhh don’t tell anyone.
I haven’t spoken to my kids. I’ve been up all night having SEX fun in the city. And I may never come home. I’m enjoying my man so much. I can’t remember the last time we were away together without the kids. Which reminds me, how are my kids? 😉

While reading the latest issue of Glamour Magazine last night, I came across an interesting article. Titled The Curse of the Just-OK Marriage,” it is based on excerpts from the book Marriage Confidential by Pamela Haag. She addresses the “Post romantic age of workhorse wives, royal children, undersexed spouses and rebel couples who are rewriting the rules.”
Wow, that is a mouthful. Today, I am focusing on the marriage part today.

My reaction: shock and sadness, if I will be honest.

Sunday was an absolutely awesome day. I spoke in the morning at an event called Le Mood – The Festival of Unexpected Jewish Learning and Culture. The tag line for the conference: Dare To Be Curious (love it)! 1000 awesome people came for a day of learning, and broadening horizons. I brought my expertise as a success coach and entrepreneur, and my talk was called: The Role of Chutzpah in Business, Marriage, Motherhood and Life.

In an evening class at Stanford, the last lecture was on the mind-body connection – the relationship between stress and disease. The speaker (head of psychiatry at Stanford) said, among other things, that one of the best things that a man could do for his health is to be married to a woman, whereas for a woman, one of the best things she could do for her health was to nurture her relationships with her girlfriends. At first everyone laughed, but he was serious.
