Girls, I am taking my annual 3-week July blogging break starting today. I do this every year for my mental wellbeing, and for the quality of this blog. It is my gift to myself. It is not easy to continuously keep things fresh, relevant and interesting, so every July, I rest my blogging brain to come back recharged, refreshed, and ready to give you more.
Over the next three weeks, I will be working, relaxing and traveling. The end of my 3-week blogging break will mark my favorite time of the year– our annual blogging conference in NYC, called Blogher. There are no words for this weekend of networking, partying and sharing with some of the smartest, savviest chicks I know. I simply cannot wait.
So, I wish you all a wonderful upcoming 3 weeks. I hope you find some time to yourself to reflect, and map out your goals. Summer is a great time to do that. As always, I am known to check in every now and then, so do come and visit. Please consider this your time to catch up on “rerun” blog posts, as well. 😉 I will be on Twitter and Facebook, so come say hi over there!
Many blessings to you, and remember this while I’m gone….
I’d love to know, will you be taking any time off? What are your summer plans? Are you reading anything good you can recommend?

Enjoy your break. You deserve it. We’ll all be here waiting when you return. We will be going to Cape Cod for the first time and I am looking forward to it.
Enjoy the break! I took a partial break in June after the recall election in Wisconsin. It was the last week of school (I teach), and the election was very demoralizing, so I posted a few old posts instead of new content. I’ve rested a while, and now I’m back on the couch with my laptop, basking in the A/C during outrageously hot MidWest temps.
Have fun and enjoy your vacation!
Enjoy your well deserved break. I will be taking off some long weekends. I love that last photo by the way it is so true.
Have a great time and enjoy Blogher. 🙂
I think it’s essential to step away from work and recharge. I spent a week in Chicago and I am so ready to get back to work- its inspiring to be with my own thoughts, unplugged from the daily grind.
Have a great few weeks!
have fun and rejuvenate – see you at blogher and I am so glad that your site is visible to me again!
Happy vacation! I highly recommend reading “Gift From the Sea” by Ann Morrow Lindbergh – whether you have read it before or not, it will reconfirm how important it is to recharge. Enjoy!
Have a restful vacation. Recharging the battery does a body good.
