Swiping to make your next best friend? Tinder-Style dating-style apps are helping women make new friends.
Yes, that was my topic for this morning’s weekly Global TV segment.
Now, before you say NO to this possibly up-and-coming trend, before you say that finding platonic friends online is desperate, ridiculous, and something you’d never try, I ask you to kindly watch my segment. And then decide again.

“When it comes to dating for romantic purposes, you can look in a room and know instantaneously who you have a connection with. When it comes to friendship, it’s hard to look around and see who you have something in common with. You can’t know who is also going through a divorce or who is new to town. Female friendships are absolutely essential. We hope women find their new best friends, traveling partners, brunch dates, wing girls, mommy friends, workout partners, etc. on the platform.” – co-founder of VINA, Olivia June Poole.
I have to say, the more I think about it, the more off the fence I become, and the more game I am!!
I won’t give it all away, so watch today’s segment and tell me: WOULD YOU SWIPE FOR YOUR NEXT BESTIE?
I would absolutely use this friendship app. Why not?
I don’t think I ever would but you made a good argument for it!
Mmmm, not sure. Relationships are something else, one has that “bond” that one forms for a friend but then if it works for Dating etc….I guess it should really work. An very interesting read though
