I am currently at the airport heading back from the whirlwind that is BlogHer. What is BlogHer you might ask (that is, if you are a new reader around here)?
I quote a friend Darryle Pollack from the Huffington Post, whom I also saw at BlogHer this weekend in Silicon Valley. THIS is what makes BlogHer so unique….
Hi Girls! It has been a busy week on the blog after making a big announcement, so I figured I’d keep the momentum going. If you stay with me until the end, you’re going to be excited about an AWESOME giveaway today. Oh yes! It’s BIG.
So, let’s get right to it… Friday is a great day to kick off an exciting giveaway! You, my loyal readers, know that have been a loyal member of the Aeroplan program, accumulating Aeroplan Miles as I have spent dollars (which I have redeemed for airfare, hotel, car rental, and more), for almost 20 YEARS! I believe in this brand so strongly, so when I reached out to them and begged (yah I guess I begged) them to be their Brand Ambassador over a year ago, after over a year of discussions, Aeroplan said YES! 😉
I am beyond proud, excited and honored to make this announcement today. It is truly humbling and if I am to be honest, probably one of the most momentous milestones of my career.
As Canada’s only Chief Inspiration Officer for Entrepreneur Barbie for all of Canada, I join the company of some remarkable trailblazing women representing Entrepreneur Barbie in the US – read this http://mashable.com/2014/06/18/entrepreneur-barbie-inspiration-tips/. I was honored to have been selected as the sole CIO for Canada. As an entrepreneur since the age of 24 (now starting my fourth entrepreneurial venture), having written a book on entrepreneurship, and having made it my life’s mission to inspire others to take the dive into passion, this feels like my calling.
Girls, I am taking my annual July (sometimes into August) blogging slowdown. I do this every year for my mental wellbeing, and for the quality of this blog. It is my gift to myself. It is not easy to continuously keep things fresh, relevant and interesting, so every July, I relax my blogging brain, check in less frequently in order to come back recharged, refreshed, and ready to give you more.
The other day, I found my son Ethan in my closet. When I asked him what he was doing, he looked at me and said, ”Mom it’s time to clean up in here. You have such nice things but it’s so messy that you can’t find anything.”
I’m embarrassed to admit he was right. For the next two hours Ethan diligently organized my mess. The end result was breathtaking.
Ethan is my 10 year-old middle child. He was born on a cold spring day in 2003. From the minute I looked into his eyes, I knew he was special.
