Erica Diamond Interviews Jazz Pop Music Phenom Nikki Yanofsky

I recently sat down with jazz pop sensation Nikki Yanofsky, and what I discovered was a cool, bright, articulate and grounded young woman who knows what she wants, is doing what she loves, and is chasing her passion with fierce determination. This ain’t no woman on the fence! She’s a natural born singer, and we get a little taste of that in this interview. And yes, I got her to sing for us!

Here is the full Global TV interview, so if you enjoy Nikki Yanofsky, there’re lots of Nikki here to enjoy.

14 Happiness Boosters To Incorporate Into Your Life

Blue Monday (considered the “Most Depressing Day of the Year”) was last Monday. Most of our New Year’s resolutions have run dry, and we find ourselves back to square one. Many also experience the holiday spending hangover – the visa bill is now in. We are smack in the middle of winter, with its end nowhere in sight. People are walking around in a rut.

This morning on this week’s Global TV segment, I shared some happiness boosters to incorporate into your life. Our segment was cut short due to an interview afterward with Canada’s beloved golfer Graham DeLaet, so I have given you more below.

@Aeroplan’s New Distinction Program

It’s no secret I have been a LOYAL member of the Aeroplan program, accumulating Aeroplan Miles as I have spent dollars, for almost 20 YEARS! It’s no secret that I was honored to become a Brand Ambassador for…

On The Fence About Old Spice

I’m not sure if you’ve seen the new Old Spice commercial. There’s been lots of controversy over this new “Momsong” commercial. It has boys creeped out. It has moms laughing (but secretly identifying). I read a headline that went like this, “The new Momsong ad turns moms from ‘caring to creepy’.”

If you haven’t seen it, watch for yourself. If you’re a mom, I dare you not to laugh.

My One Thing

Happy New Year and welcome back to another year with WomenOnTheFence.com! We’re going into year 5 and I honestly don’t know where the time has gone…

As I reflect back upon the past 5 Januaries, I realize that I have come back every New Year with a different attitude. One year, our first January post was called What If You’re Just Feeling Lazy and Unmotivated!. It went like this:

Happy New Year

Happy New Year from cloudy Florida. I wanted to take this moment to wish you all a very Happy and Healthy 2014. I don’t think I could say it more perfectly than this. Thank you to Chenice, one of our first readers for sending me this. I do believe it’s quote from the movie New Year’s Eve.

And On The 353rd Day, She Rested

Well my lovely ladies, it’s almost that time of year again- Christmas, holiday season, Nat King Cole and reindeers. It’s also the time where I close up the blogging shop for two weeks. Yup, I do. I rest my kepi (that’s Hebrew for head), and come back rejoiced with fresh content in January.
Just a little note to wish you all a very HAPPY and HEALTHY New Year. As always, I am known to check in over a blogging break, so please do come and visit. Or, I am always in my playground: Twitter , Facebook and Instagram, should you wish to stay in touch.

Wordless Wednesday: Cold

I have been thinking about the homeless a lot lately. It has been freezing cold here in Montreal, and when this type of weather hits, my mind always wanders to those sleeping on the streets, to crowded shelters and to the injustices of life. It’s heartbreaking.

I decided I wanted to do something about it. I went through my closet this weekend, and put together a pile of about 6 old winter coats. My husband, my boys and I ran them downtown to give them out to those living on the streets without warm coats. I was basically just doing what I could…

2013: Reflections of a Year

Welcome to the home stretch of 2013. Another year down- CAN YOU BELIEVE? This year was, without a doubt, another interesting year. As has become somewhat of a yearly tradition on WomenOnTheFence.com, for the new and old readers, I recap our year.

‘Tis the season for giving, and fabulous fashion! There’s no better place to stock up on the greatest office party, holiday and New Year’s party attire AND gifts than the store on every main street and in every mall across Canada, and online at LeChateau.com.
