Happy New Year from cloudy Florida. I wanted to take this moment to wish you all a very Happy and Healthy 2014. I don’t think I could say it more perfectly than this. Thank you to Chenice, one of our first readers for sending me this. I do believe it’s quote from the movie New Year’s Eve.
Month: December 2013
Well my lovely ladies, it’s almost that time of year again- Christmas, holiday season, Nat King Cole and reindeers. It’s also the time where I close up the blogging shop for two weeks. Yup, I do. I rest my kepi (that’s Hebrew for head), and come back rejoiced with fresh content in January.
Just a little note to wish you all a very HAPPY and HEALTHY New Year. As always, I am known to check in over a blogging break, so please do come and visit. Or, I am always in my playground: Twitter , Facebook and Instagram, should you wish to stay in touch.
I have been thinking about the homeless a lot lately. It has been freezing cold here in Montreal, and when this type of weather hits, my mind always wanders to those sleeping on the streets, to crowded shelters and to the injustices of life. It’s heartbreaking.
I decided I wanted to do something about it. I went through my closet this weekend, and put together a pile of about 6 old winter coats. My husband, my boys and I ran them downtown to give them out to those living on the streets without warm coats. I was basically just doing what I could…
Welcome to the home stretch of 2013. Another year down- CAN YOU BELIEVE? This year was, without a doubt, another interesting year. As has become somewhat of a yearly tradition on WomenOnTheFence.com, for the new and old readers, I recap our year.
‘Tis the season for giving, and fabulous fashion! There’s no better place to stock up on the greatest office party, holiday and New Year’s party attire AND gifts than the store on every main street and in every mall across Canada, and online at LeChateau.com.
This Morning’s Global TV Parenting segment was on a topic many of us can relate to right now – holiday shopping! It is a very stressful time for most– both financially, as well as finding the time to get it all done on time. Today I shared 5 hot holiday shopping and budget apps which will hopefully take some of the stress off.
Today’s we’re having THE TALK. No, no, not the talk you have with your teens about boyfriends, safe sex and monthly periods.
Well, actually, we are talking about our monthly period, but in a different way.
We have spoken about THAT time of the month before on the blog, but from our anonymous Man on the Fence’s perspective. You girls reacted in a BIG WAY!
I am still coming off a high from an incredible evening that took place this past Tuesday night in Toronto. A few months ago, I was given a lovely honor and recognition- I was named a finalist for Digital Personality of the Year, recognizing the best in Canadian digital media. Well, my husband and I left Tuesday morning for Toronto, and he stood by my side at the annual Digi Awards in Toronto.
I can’t believe it’s almost that time again… winter. Beside beautiful falling snow, winter often brings something entirely different — flu season! In fact, my family’s skin has already faded from golden brown (summer lovin’) to pale white to green-like. My boys have started their first runny noses, and are actually both home from school today (ugh). We slacked off with our health regime all summer long, because we had the benefits of natural sunlight, the great outdoors, and we ate a ton of fruit. However, with back-to-school, a bunch of kids packed into close quarters, for hours on end, it’s only a matter of time before everyone is sick again.
