An Honor

I was shocked and thrilled to see this posted on Twitter last night. Suzy Welch, author and wife of Jack Welch, famous businessman and former Chairman & CEO of General Electric, posted this about my new book, 99 Things Women Wish They Knew Before Starting Their Own Business.

And for those that asked, no, I never sent her a copy of my book. She bought it off Amazon herself and then surprised me last night.

Being A MOMpreneur Is Big Business

So it’s 2011. Maybe your kids are all in school now, and maybe you’ve decided that this is the year you’re going to get creative – in every sense of the word. Maybe you’ve decided that you’re going to get off the fence and contribute to society. That’s you’re going to contribute to your household income. That’s you’re going to leave your high stress job in search of flexibility and balance. Maybe you need to work for financial reasons, maybe you don’t. But one thing is for certain… MomPreneurship is big business.

Wordless Wednesday

I’m ready for a successful 2011. I love new beginnings. Tabula Rasa – a clean slate to start over and make it right.

EXCLUSIVE: An Interview With Christy Turlington Burns

I had the immense pleasure and privilege of interviewing someone we all know and remember, the beautiful (inside and and out) Christy Turlington Burns. Christy is making a difference for mothers today. Here is her journey. Here is her story. I hope it will enlighten, inspire, and as always, encourage you to get off the fence in your own life.

2010: A Year In Review

2010 was an interesting year. And although I am on vacation, I couldn’t end off 2010 without a recap of a few life lessons learned, memories shared, milestones celebrated, and tough times endured. 2010 was without a doubt, the most interesting year of my life. This was my year ‘off the fence.’ Euphoric at times, to be honest. To have received a second chance to build something from nothing, was a truly a dream come true. That’s what 2010 was for me… something from nothing.

Wordless Wednesday

Taking time to think, relax, recharge, and regroup.

Planning for 2011.

Let’s make it the best one yet.

On Vacation

To you, my cherished readers, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I wish you health, happiness, prosperity and peace in 2011. May all that you wish for, be the least that you get.

The Bucket List – Updated

One of my most popular Blog posts and concepts that really took off over the past year, has been my Bucket List Blog. On February 19th, 2010 I urged you to make a list of your dreams– or simply a list of 25 things you want to do before you “kick the bucket.” The concept pushed many, including Brooke Burke to create her Bucket List which she spoke of on The Oprah Show, on her Blog, and in her upcoming book, The Naked Mom. Because of the power of the Bucket List, and with the approach of 2011, instead of making New Year’s resolutions this year, I wanted to encourage all my readers who haven’t yet done so to make their Bucket List. I’ve re-posted mine below, added a few updates in RED (’cause it’s almost been a year), and then, I’d love to see yours.

You Know You Need A Break When…

Hi ladies! I just got back from an hour walk in the minus 9 degree weather so I feel clear and refreshed. I’ve got a nice hot cup of coffee next to my laptop. It’s Friday, so that’s always nice. And the holidays are just around the corner. So all in all, life’s good.

But shit, this woman feels like she needs a time-out. And I know it, just from these few things I’ve done over the past 2 weeks. And the other not-so-good stuff below.
