Snow Day, In The News and A Salary for Stay-At-Home Moms

We awoke to a snow day… each boy for their respective schools. Man, can you spell H A P P I N E S S? Yup, they were pretty darn happy. I, on the other hand, shuffled my day around and am working from home. I also just baked a banana bread for the kids who came here to hang. I surprisingly didn’t mess this one up.

Note the last cake-baking episode below. I baked a vanilla cake – OUT OF A BOX and it somehow came out like this. Who f’s up a Duncan Hines vanilla box cake? I try, lord knows I try! I am just not handy in the kitchen. I pulled it out of the oven after 36 minutes (what the recipe called for),  and the inside WAS LIQUID. Sheer soupy liquid. I followed the recipe, and still THIS UGLY THING.

But I digress…

Some nice news yesterday. WomenOnTheFence.com was featured on a great popular site, FairyGodBoss.com as a career blog that’ll help your climb. Take a moment to click on the link to discover some other awesome career blogs too. We are so honored.

And finally, I tackled a kind of controversial topic on Global TV yesterday.

”Stay-at-home moms deserve $160K salary,” a recent survey said. Stay-at-home moms don’t get paid, but according to a new survey, they’d be making six figures if they did. I discussed this trending parenting story yesterday morning. Thanks to those who weighed in publicly (and privately), I shared some of your sentiments.

Would love to hear your thoughts…

Okay, that’s it. Short and sweet, and back to planning a media conference in May for Montreal women. Can’t wait to share more.

À bientôt,
