Hello, June. When I shared my self-care regime infograhic and then my partial self-care calendar for May, I…
We awoke to a snow day… each boy for their respective schools. Man, can you spell H A P P I N E S S? Yup, they were pretty darn happy. I, on the other hand, shuffled my day around and am working from home. I also just baked a banana bread for the kids who came here to hang. I surprisingly didn’t mess this one up.
Note the last cake-baking episode below. I baked a vanilla cake – OUT OF A BOX and it somehow came out like this. Who f’s up a Duncan Hines vanilla box cake? I try, lord knows I try! I am just not handy in the kitchen. I pulled it out of the oven after 36 minutes (what the recipe called for), and the inside WAS LIQUID. Sheer soupy liquid. I followed the recipe, and still THIS UGLY THING.

I love a new school year. I really do. Fresh binders, crisp loose leaf paper, unmarked notepads, clean pens, unchewed erasers. The organized life! I dig it, ladies.
On Global News this morning, I shared my tips on taking on and tackling the year. Hint: it starts now.
This morning on my weekly segment on Global News, I discussed something that as a parent, perhaps, you might connect with. I shared some of the research on ‘distracted parenting’ caused by smartphones and the harmful effects on children (based on studies both on humans and rats in labs).
I then went on to share some tips on how parents can unplug and disconnect.
I hope you’ll watch this important segment in the link above.
