Spring has sprung! I couldn’t be happier.
When spring arrives, it signals that summer is around the corner. For many, summer is a wonderful time to travel and explore a new city, try a new adventure. Anyone have wanderlust? I’m guilty.

On Friday April 7th, I celebrated my birthday by sharing the day with 120 women in my first-ever conference, Off The Fence & WISE. Off The Fence & WISE became the collaboration of two Montreal empowerment brands: Women On The Fence and Wise Women Canada. The day was happy, it was funny, it was heavy, it was dark, it was uplifting, it was spirited. And it surpassed my greatest expectations.
I LOVED yesterday morning’s topic.
Wondering what the the #1 determinant of long term success in kids is? Intelligence? IQ? Natural talent? Some fascinating research here, so parents, don’t miss this one. And I won’t give it away in the post, you’ll just have to watch.
Before I go, I want to close with my favorite parenting quote. As a certified life coach, mentor, entrepreneur, and mom to two boys, age 10 and 13, I know this to be true.
To be honest, there is little to add here. Please watch this. I can’t think of a better #MotivationMonday. What I will say is, the older I get, the more like myself I feel. I’m not holding back. I just want to be… ME. I think at 40, you suddenly wake up to your life.
What do you think?
It’s official: Spring is here!
And being the Brand Ambassador for LE CHÂTEAU, I wanted to show you on this #WorkWearWednesday, some amazing spring workwear looks!

I couldn’t be more excited to make this announcement today, WomenOnTheFencers!
On April 7th, 2017, get ready to feel inspired, empowered, and armed with the tools to rock your life.
Combining our passion and dedication to empowering women, Lisa Brookman and Liz Wiener (WiseWomenCanada.com) and me, Erica Diamond (WomenOnTheFence.com), have joined forces and are excited to announce the launch of Off The Fence and WISE – Montreal’s first Women’s Wellness and Growth Conference aimed at helping women renew, regenerate and evolve to become their best selves.
This full-day conference is comprised of an impressive roster of some of Canada’s best known and most inspiring women speakers. Whether you’re an individual looking for personal growth or a company looking to empower your employees, the day is an excellent opportunity to learn invaluable lessons from our expert panel which is sure to foster growth and creativity.
Silicon Valley believes that if you aren’t failing frequently, you aren’t risking enough. This philosophy serves the high-tech capital well, but chances are you likely don’t follow that same approach in your own life.
But you should. Because failure is your friend.
Henry Ford — one of our great inventors and someone who failed more often than he succeeded — said “failure is an opportunity to begin again more intelligently.” And yet, more often than not, we fear failure and avoid it at all costs, even if it means sacrificing opportunity and potential happiness. We let fear paralyze us until we’re stuck in inertia, when we should be embracing “good” risk and failing up.
As much as we’d like to think that we’re in a progressive, egalitarian culture, some 1950’s stigmas never die, no matter what we’re beating the horse with. While we can ascribe some of that to the fact that a major portion of the population grew up with these views, the stigmas against single mothers are still alive and thriving. In fact, 70% of Americans believe that single mothers have a negative influence on society.
No, that’s way too high, you say. There are 9.9 million single moms, surely they can find more than three out of ten supporters? Well, reality says differently. America still dislikes single moms, despite their frequent appearances in popular media and real life. Predictably, their reasoning is faulty to the core and reveals a lot more about their insecurities than it does about single mothers. However, it is still good to know what you’re up against, so without further ado:
I am reaaally excited to show you this today.
Most of my readers know I am the Brand Ambassador for LE CHÂTEAU, so when we decided to showcase how this brand actually takes me from dusk till dawn, from 9 to 5 and beyond, I was game! Plus today is #FashionFriday, so let’s get right to it…
I understand wanting to stay at home with your children when they’re young, having wished for it myself. Like most new moms, when my three months of maternity leave was over (all of it unpaid by the way!) and I had to go back to the office, I was devastated. I couldn’t fathom the thought of leaving my son for an hour, let alone a day. I wanted more than anything to stay home and be with my baby. I would have done nearly anything to be a stay-at-home mom. Financially, however, it was impossible for my family. Trust me, I did the math countless times, and being a banker, I was good at math!
