Most of us know that we should be incorporating a self-care regime into our daily lives. Yes, DAILY lives. But actually implementing it and making it happen, isn’t always as easy.
Today, I’m bring back an older segment on Global News. Here I shared tips and tricks on how to create a self-care routine you’ll stick to. Summer slacking is soon coming to an end, and if you’re a parent, the kids are also heading back to school… it’s therefore the perfect time to return to you.
Our loved ones should see that our hobbies and passions matter too, and deserve to live on the family calendar as well. Children who grow up seeing moms and dads practice self-care (exercise, have hobbies, go out with their friends and socialize, honor their boundaries), become adults who know how to practice self-care. They grow up knowing that they matter.
You matter.
Every day.
So, quit making excuses why you should be constantly doing for everyone around you, all the while walking around with a depleted tank. You can’t give from an empty cup, dear friend.
Here we go. The segment, plus Time-Management Guru and Best Selling author, Laura Vanderkam weighed in to my segment especially for our viewers.
I’d love to know what you love to do for self-care and how you make the time. Or don’t… yet… 😉
Great tips for making self care a priority! I like the tip on doing only what you love and not what other people do. It’s really true.
