A Dating Anniversary: 18 Years

A Dating Anniversary: 18 Years

This weekend my husband and I celebrated EIGHTEEN YEARS TOGETHER. Eighteen years, OY! I had just turned 20 years old the day we shared our first kiss, April 27th, 1995.

So as an ode to my husband, and for my new readers who have never read it, here is our story…

Sleepless in Seattle

Sleepless in Seattle

Hello Girls!

Seeing that I missed Wordless Wednesday (our site was down), I would love to blog where I have been this week, in PICTURE.

It all started Sunday morning. I kissed my three men goodbye at 5am and headed to the airport. I was going to Seattle Grey Mercy West. No, I wasn’t. I’ve just always wanted to say that (I’m a big Grey’s Anatomy fan:. 😉

If you recall, as a Dove® Ambassador, I traveled with them on a Canyon Ranch, Arizona retreat last year. It was truly game changing. There I found myself, there I learned how to meditate (which I still do regularly), and there I learned how to truly care for myself.

An Earth Day Perspective: The Making of An Unlikely Environmentalist

An Earth Day Perspective: The Making of An Unlikely Environmentalist

Happy Earth Day Everyone! When I came across Women On The Fence Blog, I instantly became a loyal reader. I too, like most of you women, come here for a daily dose of hope and inspiration. So, when I reached out to Erica about possibly becoming a guest Blogger and then told her of my background, she excitedly asked me to write a special Blog post for Earth Day. As an environmentalist and big protector of the earth we live in, my goal is not to convert you to a full blown earthy in just one post. Rather, it’s to provide you with some facts, and get you MOVING in the right direction, perhaps as a more mindful and respectful person of our earth. So if today, you decide to unplug your coffee machine after you’re done brewing that cup, or recycle your cereal box, because something clicked in your brain, then I have done my job.

The #WomenOnTheFence and #GetOffTheFence FREE APP is here!

Since launching the Get Off The Fence Movement on Wednesday, we have received so many positive messages, calls, emails, tweets and more. I so greatly appreciate all of your support and feedback, and I am taking notes on all your suggestions. This is all brand new to me, and really, what do I know about starting a movement?! I’m reminded of one of my favorite quotes…

GLOBAL LAUNCH: The #GetOffTheFence Movement Is Here!

GLOBAL LAUNCH: The #GetOffTheFence Movement Is Here!

It is with anticipation, overwhelm, excitement, a ton of nerves and great hope, that I announce the launch of something that has lived in my heart for a VERY long time.

I will be honest with you today. There’s no fancy PR firm. No marketing pitch prepared. In fact, there’s no big plan. None. Only a seed. Only a spark. This is an infant, coming into the world with very little experience. This baby is small, and my hope is that you will help me raise it. My greatest wish is that you will connect with this Movement, and be inspired to take action in your own life… to get off that fence. To get unstuck and take the leap to thrive.

F*ck Cancer: Life Lessons From My Mother

It’s funny what you remember from your childhood. Our earliest memories of events, interactions, and people can stay with us and resonate for the rest of our lives.

It’s also funny how each one of us comes out of the womb. At the moment of conception thousands of generations that preceded us come together at a magical moment and give us all the qualities and challenges we will have as individuals. Our strengths, our weaknesses and perhaps even more importantly, our temperament.

There are those, even as infants, who go willingly to any one that wants to hold them, who have no fear of the unknown or strangers, and who willingly use every day as an excuse to explore the world.

I was not cut from that fabric.

On The Fence: Nanny Cam or No Nanny Cam?

On The Fence: Nanny Cam or No Nanny Cam?

My Weekly Parenting Segment aired this morning on Global TV. This week’s topic was ‘Babysitters’ – how to find one, hire one, the rules on food, cell phone use, the boyfriend, etc. And then the big one: TO INSTALL A NANNY CAM, OR NOT TO INSTALL A NANNY CAM.

The segment created a big buzz online, with people weighing in with opinions. Just an example of the conversation…

ANNOUNCEMENT: Erica Diamond Brand Ambassador for @Aeroplan

ANNOUNCEMENT: Erica Diamond Brand Ambassador for @Aeroplan

It has been a busy few weeks on the blog with some fun giveaways for you, my great readers. So, I figured I’d keep the momentum going. If you stay with me until the end, you’re going to be excited about another AWESOME giveaway today too. Oh yes! It’s BIG.

So, let’s get right to it… Monday is a great day to kick off an exciting announcement! They say to go after what you want, and so I did. I have been a LOYAL member of the Aeroplan program, accumulating Aeroplan Miles as I have spent dollars, for almost 20 YEARS! Yes, I have traveled to New York, Florida, New Orleans, rented cars, stayed in hotels, and MUCH MORE, all because of Aeroplan that has let me earn miles for dollars spent. I believe in this Brand so strongly, so when I reached out to them and begged (yah I guess I begged) them to be their Brand Ambassador, after over a year of discussions, Aeroplan said YES! 😉

38 Things I’ve Learned In 38 Years

38 Things I’ve Learned In 38 Years

Well, I’m turning this 38 this weekend. Not quite sure when THAT happened?! I’m pretty sure it was just yesterday that I kissed my husband for the first time at 19 years old while watching lesbians make out at Beaver Lake (a park here in Montreal). But clearly, it’s NOT yesterday. Not even close. I’ve got more wrinkles, more cellulite, and honeys… more wisdom.
