The Other Side of Victim

Just before my alarm went off, I opened my eyes and rushed to the bathroom mirror. They were even darker and more pronounced than last night.

This wasn’t a dream.

I ignored my mother’s voice coming from downstairs and stayed with my reflection. Standing frozen, as witness to the aftermath, I stepped outside myself, in awe.

Burned Out

The year was 2001. I was 26. Newly and happily married. I had managed to turn my passion into my paycheck. My business was flourishing. I had just been featured on the cover of the Business section, and numerous other publications and tv shows. Life was rockin’. I had the world by the balls.

The Little Things are the Big Things

I don’t often share the press we receive, but yesterday, two nice interviews came out and I wanted to share them with you. One of the interviewers used my answer to title the article. I’m so glad they did, because it is how I feel. The little things truly ARE the big things in life. I don’t think we realize this enough.

Wordless Wednesday: Happy Halloween!

While preparing for Halloween tonight, I came across this picture from Halloween 2004. My son’s 1st Halloween – he went as a race car driver. Here he is with his daddy. Wow, how time flies.

Happy Halloween and enjoy your excuse to eat chocolate and candy. I know today marks the beginning of my 5 pound weight gain. It lasts as long my sons’ candy lasts– and that’s usually a long time.

Hurricane Sandy

Out of respect to those affected by the threats and terror of Hurricane Sandy, I have decided to postpone today’s blog.

I am thinking of my family in New York and the millions of others affected by this horrific natural disaster. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Be safe.

How To Safeguard Your Kids Using Mobile Monitoring Applications

The technological advancements we have made have resulted in the entry of new generation mobile phones which are smart enough to perform multi-functions. With the advent of the smartphone, kids are now increasingly utilizing these mobile phones for their various activities. The internet option helps them to browse websites; the inbuilt camera allows them to capture pictures, and so on. Most of these are beneficial, while some of them can be dangerous.

Wordless Wednesday: Sex in the City

I ran away with my husband to New York City for a fast 3-day trip of his business, and my pleasure. Shhhh don’t tell anyone.

I haven’t spoken to my kids. I’ve been up all night having SEX fun in the city. And I may never come home. I’m enjoying my man so much. I can’t remember the last time we were away together without the kids. Which reminds me, how are my kids? 😉

So, I’ll see you all in a few.

INTERVIEW: Erica Diamond Gets Up Close and Personal with Kristen Johnston

I was watching 20/20 about three weeks ago, and saw the familiar, smiley face that is Kristen Johnston. But, it wasn’t such a smiley interview. It was deep, and it was dark. I was mesmerized. Her story was riveting. I chased her down until I found her, and am thrilled to feature her today on WomenOnTheFence.com.

I give you, actress, author, and activist, Kristen Johnston.
