Episode Summary Welcome back to the show. As we approach…
Whenever March rolls around (my husband’s birthday), and then into April (my birthday this weekend), I always know it’s time for me to take stock of my life. It’s the time I start sweeping out the cobwebs; literally and figuratively. Winter’s snow melts away, and all the things you have been ignoring in your life, start to present themselves again. Aaah, I forgot about you! Spring is a great time to deal with these things head-on. And that’s not a bad thing– spring is about rebirth, renewal, regeneration.
If you’re like most of the population who have been walking around not living at your optimum, there’s no better time than now, springtime, to internally and externally cleanse and rejuvenate your mind, body and spirit. With the fast-paced society we live in, we even eat fast too – fast food, canned foods, processed foods. Why? It’s easy and quick. Why buy fresh corn on the cob and waste time boiling it, when you can just pop open a can of corn and serve it no time? Right? Wrong! And I will tell you, that although you may not see immediate results in treating your mind and body well, the long term results are astounding.
What dust-balls are lurking in the corner in your life?? Time to clean up, ladies!
Business owners. You are a special group with special characteristics…
I don’t need studies to know that writing down goals works. I’ve seen the proof over and over. Still there is some impressive research surrounding goals and why writing them down makes a difference.
Back in 1979, Harvard researchers supposedly interviewed their graduates and found that 84% had no goals, 13% had goals but hadn’t written them down and 3% had not only written down their goals but had a plan to support them. Ten years later, they interviewed the same people and discovered that those 3% who had written down their goals were earning 10 times as much as all their other classmates.
Years later, wanting to verify that the Harvard study ever existed or had validity, Dr. Gail Matthews, a psychology professor at the Dominican University in California, set out on a study of her own. She gathered 267 people — men and women from all over the world, and from all walks of life, including entrepreneurs, educators, healthcare professionals, artists, lawyers and bankers. The youngest was 23 and the oldest 72.
Happy Long Weekend for my North American Friends – Canada Day or 4th of July! I am trying to channel my younger son this long weekend who is the kind of person that just JUMPS into life. I stumbled upon this picture of him from many summers ago, and every time I see it, it reminds me to JUMP in the direction of my dreams and to always remain a free spirit. It’s funny how much we often learn from little people.
Helicopter parenting and gender reveal parties are out for 2023,…
It’s just about that time – summertime! People are starting to get double vaccinated, the evenings are longer and warmer, school’s out soon, and we are trying to usher back in a sense of normalcy.
Throughout the summer, I generally try and come from a place of YES instead of my frequent place of NO. “No, you can’t stay up later,” “No, it’s too late to go Dairy Queen tonight,” or “No, I can’t meet you for coffee, my friend, because I have too many deadlines.” It was a few years ago that I decided that that “no” was not going to dominate my summer vocabulary. Summer is a perfect time to say YES to your life. ESPECIALLY after the year we’ve had. We want to make sure we’re seizing the moments this summer 2021.
On my recent Global TV segment, we discussed toxic positivity.…
“As the Christmas memories fade, all we are left with is a hammered bank account, a bulge around the waist, gloomy weather and a return to work after weeks of partying. These factors all come together in a perfect storm for a single day believed to be the most depressing of the year which has been dubbed “Blue Monday.” – The Sun
Yes, the third Monday in January, which was originally created as a PR push, has actually become a national event.
I have written about this day every year on our blog.
Seeing that we’re entering cold and flu season (and heck, COVID is still around), our focus should always be on our immunity and eating well, so today I wanted to share 10 Superfoods that you should be incorporating into your fall diet.
There’s nothing like the cold, harsh weather of winter to dry out your skin fast. The good news is, with the right skincare routine, any skin type can look hydrated and glowing all winter long. But, choosing the right routine is crucial to getting the results you’re going for.
Are you ready to banish dry, itchy, lifeless winter skin for good? Here are four great skincare routines to try this winter! I have provided links that take you further in depth for each routine.
#TruthTuesday in effect.
Guys, this is me. I wrestled sharing this, but I am all about authenticity – I think you know that by now.
So, let’s get to it, shall we? I always share with a purpose and for a reason. ??
Last fall, I kissed my son goodnight and we leaned into each other and my nose was smacked hard. I had a nasal trauma, and what was already a pretty ugly nose, got even uglier??
I have wrestled with the idea of shaving the bump on my nose since my early twenties. So, after this incident, I went to a plastic surgeon and asked what could be done for the gonzo honker.
And OMG.
A few things:
“The most important relationship in your life is the relationship you have with yourself. Because no matter what happens… you will ALWAYS be with yourself.” – Dianne Von Furstenberg
For today’s V Day blog post, I am not taking about love of your spouse, or partner, or kids. I am talking about love and acceptance of… yourself.
I see it a lot in my coaching practice and in women around me. Women who occupy their time frenetically cooking for their kids, runnings for their partners, accomplishing in their jobs, doing, going, organizing chaos, loving and nurturing everyone around them. But at the core, I can see there is something missing. Something they are TRULY neglecting – themselves. And no amount of roses or surprise gifts from your partner on Valentine’s Day are going to rectify the issue.
Today’s Global Montreal Global News segment all came to be when Hilly got a bad MAN COLD two weeks ago. I had to stay healthy – because if mama goes down, well, we all go down! LOL! (Just kidding).
He was coughing and sneezing and tossing and turning and keeping me up (I was exhausted) but I was more worried to get sick.
So, I headed down the hall to the guest room.
For 3 nights
While those were 3 great nights of peace and rest (I won’t lie), I wouldn’t ever want to live like this permanently. Never in a million years!
These days can sometimes feel like a blur (or Groundhog…
