5 Steps To Get Off The Fence in 2013

2013 is your year. It’s your year because you’re going to get off that damn fence, and MAKE it your year. No excuses.

If you’ve been perched on the fence getting splinters, unable to make a decision, paralyzed and afraid to take the jump toward your happiness, I am coming for you. I’m coming for you with the frying pan! Today, you’re getting your mojo on. Today, you’re making plans.

And we’re getting right to it.

Happy Everything…

Well my lovely ladies, it’s that time of year again- christmas, holiday season, Nat King Cole and reindeers. It’s also the time where I close up the blogging shop for two weeks. Yup, I do. I rest my kepi (that’s Hebrew for head), and come back rejuiced with fresh content in January.

The Shooting In Newtown

I will not post any pictures, videos, or clips of today’s elementary school shooting- the biggest tragedy and devastation this world has seen in decades. My heart bleeds for the families, and I am crying as I hold my children extra tight right now.

I want only to quote Michael Moore, and then I’ll be done.

“The way to honor these dead children is to demand strict gun control, free mental health care, and an end to violence as public policy.” – Michael Moore

2012: A WomenOnTheFence Year in Review

Welcome to the home stretch of 2012. Another year down- CAN YOU BELIEVE? This year was, without a doubt, an interesting year. As has become somewhat of a yearly tradition on WomenOnTheFence.com, for the new and old readers, I recap our year.

Happy Hanukkah

As we light the first candle on the menorah tonight, the flickering Hanukkah lights are a reminder of the struggle, courage, and fragile triumphs of the Jewish people. May it serve as a reminder, that after darkness, always comes light. Wishing you love, light, peace, happiness, and a BRIGHT Hanukkah.

On a LIGHTer note, I told my son how incredible the Shrek candle was on the right, to which he replied, “Mom, it’s a cactus.”

Ugh. #BadMommyMoment

#LeaveItIn2012

#LeaveItIn2012 was trending on Twitter this week. I thought it was a fantastic hashtag– people talking about what they’re ready to leave behind in 2012. I saw cute answers such as, “Gangnam Style. Can’t wait to #LeaveItIn2012,” or “Chain letter emails. Please #LeaveItIn2012.” I saw answers like, “Hate and regret, I’m so ready to #LeaveItIn2012”

I’d love to know. What are YOU ready to #LeaveItIn2012?

Wisdom Wednesday: Why Me? Why NOT Me?

My DVR is programmed to record 60 Minutes every Sunday night. Sundays at 7PM, it turns out, are never a good time to watch live, so it’s recorded to watch at a more convenient time.

Yesterday I was feeling a little sluggish, so I got into bed at 3pm for a little 30 minute break before carpool. I turned on 60 Minutes.

I was blown away. I urge you to watch this from start to finish. It will be 10 minutes of your time well spent.

Who Is On Your Fantasy Dinner List?

Happy Monday! I figured many of you would be sluggish returning to the grind today after a long Thanksgiving weekend, so I wanted to keep things light. Today, we’re off the fence.

For some odd reason, I have been asked this question a lot lately. WHO IS ON MY FANTASY DINNER LIST?

It’s time to work smarter not harder, end procrastination and own your day… every day!
