Are You Stuck In A Rut?

If you’ve been perched on the fence getting splinters, unable to make a decision, paralyzed and afraid to take the jump toward your happiness, I am coming for you. Fall symbolizes the shedding and ridding ourselves of the old, and beginning of the new cycle. Fall is a perfect time to make plans.

Here are 5 Steps To Get Off The Fence and Get Unstuck this fall. It’s time to make a plan to get out of a rut and thriving:

Brain Dump

Hello, it’s been a week since I’ve been here. HOW YOU DOIN’?

Judging by the many I’ve been following on social media, not so good.

Last week, I promised to share what I’ve been up to. But first, I need to get the election off my chest. Therefore, to catch you up, today will be one big BRAIN DUMP.

My feelings in my social media updates this morning:

This is what Americans wanted – CHANGE. We now have to get over the shock, accept this new reality and pray that this guy can assemble a good entourage. Praying for a great America.

Wisdom Wednesday: Are You A Blamer?

Hola, Happy Hump Day, AKA Wisdom Wednesday.

I have lots to tell you, but I will preserve my strength and share all next week. Come back next week, please. 😉
But today, I have a question for you, and I’d like you to think long and hard about it, and answer yourself honestly.

ARE YOU A BLAMER?

7 Mobile Apps and Quiz For Work-Life Wellness

Work-life balance is something many of us strive for, but it’s often hard to know if we’ve made it there. Are we balanced? Can we juggle career and our responsibilities at home, giving them both the love and attention they require?

Yesterday on Global TV, I shared some awesome apps that can help us bring calm and balance into our lives. You might wonder how tech and balance can co-exist, but they most certainly can. HAPPINESS TAKES WORK, LADIES. IT TAKES WORK TO THRIVE.

Reflections Of A Blogger

Yesterday, we celebrated the 7th anniversary of a blog that was born out of feeling stuck, on the fence, alone, confused, and wanting to create a space for women to get inspired, get off the fence, grow, succeed and thrive. You have made that happen. I am grateful for this community who has stood by me in my darkest hours, my greatest triumphs, and given me a safe place to be authentic myself. You have also helped each other, and inspired each other into action. Never underestimate the power of a few simple words on a page.

#WisdomWednesday from Oprah

Been thinking a lot about this lately.

How many people can actually say what they want out loud? Like REALLY want? It takes a lot of guts, a lot of intuition, and a lot of working on yourself. But when you say what you want and what you need OUT LOUD- it becomes something tactile. It becomes something to work towards. It becomes a reason to get up in the morning. I dare you to declare what you want. In fact, I dare you to tell me. Email me at [email protected] – I would love to hear what you really want for yourself in your life. It’s an exercise in manifesting your dreams and happiness.

Happy Wisdom Wednesday.

Leaning In, Opting Out, and Living a F@ck Yes Life

This post is based on a talk I presented for my colleagues at InkHouse, the PR agency where I work, on August 11, 2016.

In the spring, I received an email in my inbox from our CEO and co-founder inviting us to present a talk (and hone our presentation skills) with our colleagues as the audience. Please submit a topic, it said, by this date. Uninspired, I let the deadline slip by.

“Did you submit a topic?” was the question of the day. I hadn’t and that felt fine to me.

The day after submissions were due, this showed up in my early morning Twitter feed:

How a Self-Portrait Changed My Life

There was a time when I was feeling drained, depleted, small, powerless, isolated and unhappy with myself.

But then I took a self-portrait. And the person I came face to face with was a strong, powerful, capable, brave, beautiful, successful woman. I couldn’t believe she was me.

“That one photograph opened my eyes to a whole new world.”

That photograph opened my eyes to a whole new world. That photograph awakened something in my soul and led me to my journey of self-realization.

Make It One More For The Road

This morning, on a rainy Wednesday morning in June, I had my last weekly TV segment with Camille Ross. Let’s just say I cry during Hallmark commercials, so I was worried I wouldn’t be able to keep it together.

Camille and I met after we auditioned 3 1/3 years ago, and got the jobs on a brand new morning show on Global TV. Camille as the co-host, me as the weekly lifestyle and parenting correspondent. We became instant friends, and I think viewers at home could feel our true chemistry.

In honor of Camille’s departure to London Ontario to move with her new husband, we created a trip down memory lane this morning and our favorite tv moments together from the past 3 1/2 years each and every week.
