Two little old ladies, Dorace & Jackie were sitting on a park bench outside the local town hall where a flower show was in progress.
The short one, Jackie leaned over and said, ”
Life is so boring. We never have any fun any more. For $10.00 I’d take my clothes off and streak through that stupid, boring flower show!”
“You’re on!” said Dorace, holding up a $10.00 note.

Today’s “Off The Fence” Topic: Imagination and creativity.
Remember, without imagination and creativity, what is life?
Choose creativity. Choose imagination. Choose passion. Choose to think outside the box. Choose purpose. Choose to be unique.
When you hear the name Richard Branson, what’s the first thing that comes to mind? Money? Power? Success? Philanthropy? Well, yes, all these may be true, but I had the great fortune of sitting down to chat with Sir Richard Branson this weekend, and getting to see a softer side. It was amazing to meet a great visionary who I actually wrote about in my book, 99 Things Women Wish They Knew Before Staring Their Own Business. Today is a very sad day for me, and for millions of people around the world. Today, after 25 years, we will watch The Oprah Winfrey Show for the very last time.
A young lady confidently walked around the room while leading and explaining stress management to an audience; with a raised glass of water. Everyone knew that she was going to ask the ultimate question, “Half empty or half full?” But she fooled them all… “How heavy is this glass of water?” she inquired with a smile.
At 30 years old, I left the job I loved. I had fought long and hard to win my role in the ABC News Political Unit covering presidential politics. I worked for a boss I respected and with colleagues I loved. News was my mother tongue, and I had a privileged perch covering public policy and just about anything political I wished. There was no reason to leave.
Except this nagging thought that kept attacking me: What will you do if you are still doing this 10 years from now? Will that be enough?
I knew it was not.
I’m off to New Orleans tomorrow to speak at a phenomenal conference, Mom 2.0 Summit. Power Moms, big brands, The Ritz Carlton, should be A BLAST!!
